 This kind of question should not be filed as a ticket, but instead asked
 via email, irc or forum.

 Presumably the variable is set from the X-Forwarded-For: header.  That
 header is created by the VCL code in your varnish, see the first lines of
 default.vcl's vcl_recv{} function.
