Comment:

 Using OpenBSD -current I was able to interpolate to a maximum value of
 327.  At 328+ the assert problem manifests again.

 Which file should have the ifdef?  I assume it should be somewhere close
 to where the param struct is initialized and/or cmd line args are
 processed.  Point me in the right direction and I'll give you a #if
 defined(__OpenBSD__) patch.
